Chhaava 2025
Chhaava is a new film that is coming to theaters soon. The director of this movie is Laxman Utekar and it is set to release under the banners of Maddock Films which is run by Dinesh Vijan. The movie depicts the life story of Maratha warrior King Chhatrapati Sambaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Vicky Kaushal portrays Chhatrapati Sambaji while Rashmika Mandanna plays Maharani Yesubai Bhonsale, Akshaye Khanna is Aurangzeb. The story is also featured in the great Marathi novel Chhava, written by Shivaji Sawant. A. R. Rahman is composing the music for the film and Irshad Kamil is responsible for the lyrics. As of now, Chhaava is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2025.
Story
Chhaava tells the story of Chhatrapati Sambaji Maharaj highlighting his battles, leadership, and the struggle that came with it. As the next in line after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Sambhaji puts all his efforts in saving the sovereignty of the Maratha Empire from the claws of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. It beautifully describes the whole personal and political struggles he had to go through and the importance of his place in Maratha history.
